It's coming along slowly but surely.  Can't wait til it's done so I can oxyclean it, and then use it :-)

Completed Crochet project.

As promised, here is a picture of my completed shawl. This is at the Panera Bread in Orchard Park, during a get together for my crochet group, WNY_Crocheters. A member and native of this area lives in Sweden with her husband and son, who is about the same age as P, and she was here across the pond visiting family and friends for two weeks. She was able to make an hour or two for us on a Sunday afternoon, so we got together with her and one of her good friends from high school, and sat for a while and chatted while the boys played and got to know each other a bit. P had fun trying to give her little boy hugs---it was not too much unlike when we were in Wyoming visiting T's family, only P was the hugger this time and not the huggie :-) P would go after her little boy, who would then be very confused as to why this strange boy was hugging him, and they'd run around a bit. It really was very cute---as well as the times when they would be discussing the window hangings, and sitting at one of the nearby tables together.

I hope to be able to post a few more pictures of this shawl. I love it and I love the yarn. I'm not yet sure if I will go back to my original idea of making up another one with the other two skeins together, or making another one with just one skein for a friend who has recently lost a baby. I'm sure for that I could find some yarn around here that would fit the bill also :-) With all that yarn from my grandma, geesh!!!

Thanks again, Heather, for adjusting this picture for me!!! :-)

Current Project...tablecloth

My husband and son found an interesting and inventive way to use my current project, my tablecloth for ME. He looks like he's going to his first communion or something---and that he's not a he but a she, LOL!!!

The pattern is not online, as far as I know. But if you feel ambitious enough to go alookin' for it...it's the Oval Pineapple Tablecloth from the March-April issue of Annie's Crochet Newsletter. I think I bought this one from a yard sale.

So far, it's the white you see here, but if I run out of that before I finish it, it's going to also be some Bridal Blue I have left over from some curtains I was making a long time ago. I only ever finished one panel, which is currently hanging in my kitchen window---it ended up being just about big enough. I stopped making them in part because I bought the balls at different times, so the color was noticably off. Well, as long as it's not right up against each other, I think it's okay :-)

What's really funny is we just got a new table from a friend whose mother-in-law was getting rid of hers. It's just like the one we do have, only the leaf in the middle is removable---the one we have in the kitchen is glued in---and it's got a nearly matching set of wood chairs, where as we've been using the red chairs we've had since our second kitchen table. :-) Those need work, as there are spots out ofthem. I tried to cover them with contact paper but that's a bit of a disaster. Oh well, I'm going to put them on freecycle for anyone what wants to take them and fix them up :-) Maybe I'll make something nice for the wood chairs too :-)

I also made myself a nice shawl with some Rainbow Boucle. I'll post that next...post :-)
